ah, seriousHIATUS
yeah in lots of action.
there's this thing called college applications. then my time has also been dedicated to keeping the grades up to par. and then keeping my relationship in one piece. and also finding a medium between dance class and my sore ass muscles.
yeah, i'm taking dance lessons at school now. i like modern and jazz and they have allowed me to be able to do a perfect toe touch now. however...ballet....not my twist. my feet freakin hurt so much.
yeah i really do miss typing in this little box and having this free space to type and go on and on and on yet i have some other things to do tonight so unfortunately i have to abandon you once again, my beloved blog.....but not for long. this time, i promise. i'll be back. and better than ever.
PS: i'm no longer smash. but i don't have a new name yet. lol.
yeah, can you believe i've changed soo much. its kinda freakin me out.
BTW: Congrats to me on being accepted in to Drexel U's class of 2014! ahhh. i'mgoingtocollege!

comingCLEAN.
i kinda like reading what dumb shit people do. but here's a few crazzzy ones:
- Art Teacher Okay so last night while i was preparing dinner, my husband surprised me with two tickets to Bermuda. The problem is he booked it for the same weekend as my son's school carnival. I am in charge of baked goods, so i told him to try and reschedule. he was not happy about my request and threatened to go on without me. My confession is that I hope he does because I am planning on fucking my son's art teacher at the carnival. oh wow.
- Umbrella Boy My ex and I have been together for 5 1/2 years, we had a house together, and were happily engaged. That is until we had this huge fight when he told me he was moving out and walked to the door with his umbrella. I got so angry that i kicked his leg and he tripped down the stairs, and the umbrella pierced his left testicle. I then called the ambulance. Once the doctor checked him our, he told him that he needed to get it removed. i still can't believe that he had to get his testicle cut off because of me. And then we got back together. lmfaoooooooo. he'll never forget her.
chapters 1-9.
- Don't Sweat The Small Stuff well, duh this would be the first chapter since its the title of the book. one thing in this chapter that really stood out to me was when he pointed out that so many ppl spend so much of their life energy "sweating the small stuff" that they completely lose touch with the magic and beauty of life. enough said.
- Make Peace with Imperfection highlight of the chapter: "rather than being content and grateful for what we have, we are focused on what's wrong with something and our need to fix it." what i take from this is that there is NO NEED to be perfect. and this makes me think about the definition of perfect. it varies from person to person even though perfection can never be fully achieved. FOCUSING ON IMPERFECTION PULLS US AWAY FROM OUR GOAL OF BEING KIND AND GENTLE. wooohsahhh. the solution to this is to catch yourself when you fall into the habit of insisting that things should be other than they are. relax and go with the flow.
- Let Go of the Idea that Gentle, Relaxed People can't be Superachievers blah. this section didn't have much meaning to me.
- Be Aware of the Snowball effect of Your Thinking teaching yourself how to control how quickly your negative and insecure thinking can spiral out of control is a key element in retaining peace within yourself. i know many times if i'm unsure of something, i become a little pessimist, and start to think that everything and all of mankind is failing. but now i know that this can be controlled by worrying only about what needs to be worried about. focus on the problem at hand, if any. and if there isn't a problem, don't make one.
- Develop Your Compassion when i first looked at the title i was like blahhh blahh BS. yeah the world loves compassionate people, but I worry about myself. but from this chapter i've learned that compassion involves two things: INTENTION and ACTION. intentionally open your heart to others and expand your range of what and who matters. The action portion is simply what you do about it. compassion develops your sense of gratitude. when you take time to reflect on the miracle of life, it reminds you that many of the things you see as big stuff is simply small stuff that you turn into big things.
- Remind Yourself that When You Die, Your "In Basket" Won't Be Empty
- Don't Interrupt Others or Finish Their Sentences
- Do Something Nice for Someone Else- and Don't Tell Anyone About It

soulsearching.
well, not really practicing yet exploring.
i'm checking two books out of the library which will serve as my bibles and guidebooks for the few weeks.
- Don's Sweat The Small Stuff...and it's all small stuff by Dr. Richard Carlson "simple ways to keep the little things from taking over your life......"
- Meditation-A Beginners Guide by Charlotte Parnell
so yeah, i'm pretty excited. and i'm abadoning facebook/myspace during my quest so i'll have a better focus on myself and not who's doing what, where, and why.
i think my whole idea of doing this comes from the fact that over the past week so much has been bothering me that it's time to just relax, reflect, and move on.
There's 100 chapters in my don't sweat the small stuff book so everyday when i read a chapter, i'll summarize what i've learned from it here. so here i go.....

illness.
blah...school has been pretty dull today.
just got outta AP English and didn't understand anything. All i remember is something about Plato and an allegory he wrote about society and something about a cave. yeah.
next i have AP french, and i didn't do my homework b/c i felt like i was dying last night. but i'm about to go to extra help period so she can assist me in completing what i didn't understand.
i was gonna go bowling tonite, but i'll spend the evening studying for my anatomy chapter test which is on monday. yay anatomy. but right now, my anatomy is really failing me. my cardoivascular system to be exact.
i'm out.

bittersweet; it's gonna be the death of me.
yesterday was pretty.....bittersweet, as you probably can tell from the title. so i started my morning off pretty shitty. i woke up late because i went to bed late. then i couldn't find my planner. ask any boarding school student, your planner is your life. so i felt pretty lost without it. so i had to continue my morning not knowing what classes i had today or what meetings i was potentially missing. after my first period class, which was AP biology, i had senior seminar which consisted of "typical-college-prep" and what not to do in college stuff. blahhblahhblahhh. the rest of my classes went pretty normal up until volleyball practice. i was so sore b/c we had a game before and then yesterday we were told we have another game again today. yay os volleyball. its so tiring tho. my lunch time was dedicated to a meeting with the ECOteam, which is our school's go-green committee. I'm the only student on the committee so i'm the one that has to give all of the imput from a student's perspective so it was pretty exhausting for me.
after sports i spent a good hour on the phone with my boyfriend, catching up on the things i'm missing at home. i didn't get into the shower until 6, and then i remembered that the senior dinner was tonight. shit. so then i hastily got dressed, slapped on some make-up and a bright smile and was off. after dinner the senior class went to the head's house for dessert. at first i grabbed a slice of the chocolate cake but then my pickiness kicked in because it wasn't as moist as i wanted it to be so i opted for the key lime pie which was delicious. then we began to say one weird fact about ourselves that we never told anyone....and i've found out some pretty interesting things about my classmates. then everything got all sad and emotional. besides all the work and commitments i have to attend to, it still hasn't sank in that i'm a senior. and we began to reminisce on all the memories we had of one another and i began to realize this will no longer be my "home" in a few months. but it'll be a bittersweet goodbye because then comes college, and then the real life i've been preparing for for so long. and then things got better because when i got back to my room and started my french homework, my planner fell out of my binder. it was a sign that things were gonna be okay ;-)
i think my new nickname is gonna be squirrel.
lol :)

greatness.
give it a listen.
but on a more serious note…what is this i hear about morgan freeman dating his step-granddaughter. that’s drawlin.
also, i was very disturbed to hear that the lil boy that accused michael jackson of molesting him came out and said that michael never tried to molest him and that his dad put him up to it to get money. i knew it all along. but that’s drawlin too. wtf is up with people now a days?

oh, dirtydiana.
today was straight. i enjoyed my day, up until about 8:30….when i dropped my phone in the toilet. anyone that really knows me knows my luck with phones isn’t the greatest. but i’ll get to that in a minute.
when i woke up this morning, i felt the need to spend the day with my little sister. she’s 10 and i know she really looks up to me because i see her doing EVERYTHING i do. so i wanted to show her some love today. we were first gonna go to the academy of natural sciences downtown but chalked that when we realized that they closed at 4 (that’s early considering the fact that we left the house at 3.) so instead, we decided to walk around downtown in the city of brotherly love. we had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, and just talked. my good friend Sarah was in town from DC so she paid me a visit down there. after that, we just chilled downtown, got ice cream, and headed home.
this might sound a lil graphic but here goes the story tho; so i’m urinating and instead of putting my phone on the window ledge next to the toilet like i always do, i put it in my dress, like where the boob part is. so when i bent down to flush the toilet, the phone went splashing into the water. it was literally like how you see it happen in the movies. i quickly grabbed that shit outta the toilet and ran downstairs in search of some rice. [i heard that if you put a wet phone in rice, the rice grains would absorb all of the moisture.] my mom was looking at me crazy and when i tried to tell her what happened, she completely ignored me and continued to watch the michael jackson memorial on the tv. so i ran to my grandma’s house which is right around the corner from mines. she told me to blowdry it. i was like wtf….but i did it anyway. then let it sit for like a hour. when i came back to it, i was so ecstatic i almost peed on myself when it turned on….only to realize that no buttons but the power one was working. FML, forreal.
but the title of today’s blog came from something i peeped on the good ol’ myspace today. so, i’m over myspace. i barely use it. but i realized that all these girls’ headlines is like “i’m the real dirty diana” and shit like, BILLY JEAN. like, did they actually listen to the songs. both of those ladies weren’t good people. one was a golddigger, like be my babys daddy. and the other was basically a whore. so all i’m saying is really listen to a song before you call yourself that person.
although today was up and down for me, i always remember that life is fluid. and i don’t sweat the petty stuff. although the breaking of the phone isn’t petty, i’ll survive. because i know mommy or daddy will be kind enough to get me another one.
:::: THE NEW TREY SONGZ MIXTAPE HAS HELLA PLAYS ON MY COMPUTER. LIKE, IT’S GOOD:::
remember, you are what you wanna be. so if your girls wanna be dirtydiana’s, so be it.
but just remember you will never be like smash. HUUUUUGE love goes out to Hadassa [Elisheba Simmons], who gave me that nickname. before the other day, i havent spoken to her in forever. so i appreciated the love she showed me. imissthathoe. but until next time, play tetris. lol
WARNING: THIS SITE IS VERRRRRY ADDICTING! have fun little kiddies.

“people always told me to be careful what you do….don’t go around breaking young girls hearts.” – Billie Jean, all time favorite song.
i remember when me and my brother were like 6 and 7, Scream by MJ and Janet came out….and that was our song. i remember when we had this old ass stereo system in our house, but as long as we could listen to our song, we didn’t care. he used to play Michael and i was Janet, and we would just dance. just a pretty nostalgic moment.
he knew how to put on an amazing show and his outfits showed that he knew he was king. it’s crazy how people only really begin to pay you attention after you die. he made great music and besides all the scandals, he was still the shit. for the past few days I've been showing my respect for him as an artist because the only songs I've been listening to were by him. Every time i turned on the television, I was watching whatever Michael Jackson video special was on. RIP Michael and I'll forever be a fan.

“We get crazy, like we get put in straight jackets and we stay in padded rooms.”
yesterday, me and a few friends ran thru the jazz festival in west oak lane. one side, you can see the people that actually came to enjoy the festival. and the other side was like 40th street. you know how all the teenagers in philly who have nothing better to do than walk up and down 40th street, well walnut lane served as their “strip.” Instead of the west/southwest people i’m used to seeing, these peeps were all from mt. airy/ west oak lane. and i noticed a few things:
-the way they dress; why the fuck are these girls still wearing uggs. its almost summer. and this Lo’ phase needs to go farr away. we saw polo bucket hats. lmfao. shit got real. like everyone swears they’re the shit if they have on something polo. can i just throw out there that i was wearing polo in middle school. now everyone thinking they getting money so they can get nice things. but whatever.
-the way they approach people; normally i’m used to just ignoring the yeaarps i usually hear while walking down the street. but this dude i met yesterday was so respectful i felt bad for turning him down. i just wish his face matched his personality. also his friend was cool because he had an iguana on his head.
after walking around for a while, we decided to blend in and posted up next to these dudes who were cool as shit. all had on lo’. i guarantee you lol. then we noticed how everyone was like in their squads and we started re-enacting how these ghetto bitches take all their myspace pictures. lemme break it down for you:
this is the myspace girl pose number one. middle finger up and mean mug on ya face.
this is myspace girl pose number 2. stick out ya donk and put your hand on your hip lol.
and here’s the classic boy pose. BANG BANG. fuckouttaherenutassyoungboa. lol
and here’s us, badd, classy, and original.
after the festival was over, you know the cops were deep. so we decided to walk to McDonalds, so 40th street, to get erinn some ice cream. but guess where all the “black people” were, McDonalds. and bitches were about to start fighting and then it started raining and it was like ugh, i wannabeinwestphiladelphia. but then me and nish remembered we got a long ass way home. we waited for the 6 bus for like 25 minutes, was on it for like 15, then had to get on the sub and then i had to get on the 34. yo, i swear i’ve never been so hype to see the 34 trolley before. i started clapping when i saw it and mind you its like 12 o’clock and its nothing but really bums in the terminal. they were looking at me like wtf is wrong with this girl. and then the trolley was completely empty when i got on but this random ass oldhead came and sat next to me. it freaked me out at first but i was like i just hope he doesn’t start talking to me, and he didn’t. maybe he just wanted to sit next to me….but whatever. shit popped in west oak lane but i still like west/southwest more ;)
&& don’t forget the BANG BANG.
&&thanks nish for the pictures.

"I DON'T WANNA GET OLDER"
saturday when i got home, the first person i saw was janell. we drove around for a while and jordan had a sweet 16 to perform at so we went to support them. big ups to him. after that, i went to my cousin jennifer's 17th birthday "event" which consisted of lots of dancing, *drinking* which i honestly didn't partake in, and just pure craziness. my night ended around 3. then came sunday. once again, lex, toya, and i tried to make our "park date" occur. it kinda did, but not how it was really planned. damn those kids don't like to share swings.....especially this real fat girl who DIDNOTWANNAMOVEE! ugh, idontwannagetolder. after the park, toya and i had our "mini-date" in which we strolled around 40th street, not on no hype ghetto black teenage-girl stuff, justchilled. it was pretty cool and we had nice discussions and i found out that John Legend went to UPenn. ah, that's good to know. and as i type this, i eat my usual breakfast when i'm home of french toast sticks!! however, mom let me down this morning because we ran outta syrup so i had to eat it dry....it's all good. the breakfast i loved as a child still remains..and yet still, i don't wanna get older. SIKE! i do. getlikesmash.

i don't need candles or cake...
after seeing this video, i wanted to look at Jeremih more as an artist and see what other things he is doing. his album is set to be realeased on June 30th and i think its gonna be good. besides his ahh-ah-ahh's in the song, his voice is one i'd enjoy listening to. there's a little snippet on this up-and-coming artist.

the path is TOO long.
NOT!
10 minutes later...
right now as i'm typing this, i feel myself falling into a sort of zen-mode. the rain is falling, letting in a relaxing chill, the sweet sounds of goapele are flowing pass my eardrums and warming my soul; "close your eyes and see what you believe", definately my favorite line in the song. right now i wish i could be sipping some nice chamomile tea w/out sugar and just snuggled up in the bed....although i really should be studying. i'm gonna say this once and really mean it: fuck the test. today i took my chemistry final and i'm pretty sure i aced it. it was definately easy. yesterday i took english, which i passed, and french, which i think i got at least a 85 on. but i know this precalculus test is gonna mess up my "feel good about passing all my exams" mood.
that's enough for tonite. going to get some ice cream , talk to ______, and fall asleep.

i took the night off for you...
after washing my face and brushing my teeth, i realized that today was my last day of school which made me even more cheerful...but then i became glum again remembering that exams were the rest of this week. not cool. but anyway the highlight of my day today def had to be the varsity lacrosse game. today was a major playoff game. and can i just say real quick, sports is a huge joke to my school; we lose a lot of competitions. but big ups to the varsity lacrosse members because today i've seen thee most amazing game ever and our girls were so respectful. shit, i see why i don't play contact sports....i can't deal with people pushing and shoving you, but they tolerated it well. although we lost the game 15-10, they still won in my eyes. <3>
i'll write more later....gotta review for my french exam, that i already know i'm gonna fail.
shout-out to you Jelly, you've become the reason i wanna
update more frequently.

your body's here with me, but your heart and your mind is still with her...
the perfect song for that scenario would have to be Ne-Yo's song:Back To What You Know.
listen to it...hot shit.
THROWBACK.....i just started re-loving the song Did It Before by my man Lil Wayne. typical good shit.
WHY HAVEN'T I BEEN UPDATING LATELY: THIS WEEK IS REVIEW WEEK WHICH MEANS EXAMS ARE NEXT WEEK...ENOUGH SAID.
love you all.

am i crazy, or was you giving me the eye?!
this weekend was quite "eventful" if i should call it that. eventful for that of a boarding student's life. friday night, i went to the cabaret at my school. it was funny as shit. but whatever. This weekend was alumnae weekend a.k.a. when the Oldfields alumnae come back to school and get shit-faced. this year, we didn't get to observe alll the nonsense. instead, we got shipped off on a bus to go laser-tagging. what the fuck a bunch of 16+ year olds wanna go laser tagging for?! but before we were escorted off of the campus, there wasn't anything to do. me and a few other girls sat outside of our dorm, chillin. pretty boring but here's my favorite part. we had a contest of who could hold the most gumballs in their mouth. marifer got to 10....and i could do 7. @ first i was like this shit is gonna be so easy, until i started chewing........dude, gum gets pretty thick. lmfao. i was so proud of myself tho that i could even chew it for as long as i did.next, i ran around the dorm figurin out wtf i felt like wearing. i put a skirt on. then realized it takes running to laser tag, so i changed back into the shorts i've previously had on. we then headed to burger king. this wasn't ur usual burger king. this one had couches, flat screen tv's and hotel-looking bathrooms. i hate fast food but if all the restaurants looked like this, i think i'd re-consider. then i was thinking, i don't eat meat so what the hell am i gonna eat at BURGER king?! yet i didn't fret, they had veggie burgers. i felt special.
then we proceeded on our "adventure." next was the movies. my "associates" at Oldfields were all going to see 17 again, the movie w/ Zac Efron and I wasn't in teh mood for any Disney-cheesey-oh-always-happy-ending shit, so i went to see the Fast and Furious movie.

- I watched a bunch of ppl sing, scream, act stupid on stage.
- I almost got lockjaw tryna chew the most gumballs. idiot.
- I found a burger king that looked like it could've been a house.
- I re-ignited the spark i once had for Vin Diesel and fast cars.
- I now wanna be a drag racer.
- I played glow-in-the-dark mini-golf...which felt like i was just walking my dog.
- Laser tag.....enough said.
- I sat in the same spot for about 4 hours watching Weeds and then the movie 21.
- I washed Tiffani's hair...shout out to your hair Tiff.
great, iknow. aren't you jealous?!

can i just say that this dude Drake, "Drizzy", whatever the fuck you call him, is something special. He's better than weezy. *gasp* i know. he's sexier, is flow is sicker, and his swag is just a billion times better. dude can singandrapandact. hot shit. I was into him waaaaay back in middle school when i used to rush home just to watch Degrassi. but he's all grown now.Friday, March 27, 2009
my addiction.
i'm not talking about the kind you have to separate, roll into a blunt and light up. i'm talking about the tv show, that comes on showtime. since i'm away a lot and busy with school, it's hard for me to keep up with the show. So it's fair to say that I binge when it comes to the show.
i mean c'mon, how much better does it get. suburban housewives selling drugs. i swear the plot of the show definitely has to come from someone's real life. here's the breakdown for you: There's a woman named Nancy Botwin whose husband just died and she needs cash to keep up her lifestyle. So, she begins to deal drugs. Then there's Celia, Nancy's evil nemesis who's nothing but a bitch. So you know its over if Celia finds out what Nancy does for a living....and eventually she does, and wants in on the "operation."
